Synopsis

A political coup. An extremist regime. A trans child gone missing. Part thriller, part family drama, Tesseract is set in a fictional time and place where the uprising of a religious extremist group upends the lives of a lesbian couple and their trans child. Hope – and help from unexpected places – becomes their only lifeline as the couple moves heaven and earth to try and reunite with their son.

Playwright

Scott C. Sickles is an Emmy and Writers Guild of America Award-winning LGBTQ+/neurodivergent/American Born Mixed Korean writer. He has been a scriptwriter for the ABC Daytime drama “General Hospital” for over a decade. His plays have been performed in New York City, across the U.S., and in Canada, Australia, the UK, Hungary, Singapore, Indonesia, Lebanon, India, and Dubai, at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, City Theatre, Portland Stage, The Garry Marshall Theatre, HB Studios, Road Theatre Company, Urban Stages, Leviathan Lab, Gulfshore Playhouse, Dayton Playhouse Future Fest, Mixed Asian Media Festival, Abingdon Theatre Company, Short+Sweet, Valdez Theater Conference, Midwest Dramatists, and the Lark Play Development Center.

FEATURING JANE KACZMAREK

Jane Kaczmarek has appeared on Broadway in Lost in Yonkers and in plays at the Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public, Second Stage, Long Wharf, New York Stage and Film, and the Berkshire and Williamstown Theatre Festivals.  She starred for seven years in the Emmy Award-winning TV series “Malcolm in the Middle.” The show is now enjoying a reboot, with the original cast reuniting for four new episodes.
